How we handle your email
Scootch shares one keyboard and mouse between your computers without an account or the cloud. We treat your email the same way: we keep as little as we can, on a server we run ourselves.
Who we are
Scootch is made by Afterimage Software Ltd, a company registered in the UK. We decide what happens to your details and look after them. You can reach us at hello@afterimage-dev.com.
What we keep
- The email address you give us.
- Which computers you ticked (Mac, Windows, Linux).
- Which of our pages you signed up on.
- When you signed up.
We don't keep your IP address with your sign-up.
Why
To email you when Scootch is ready to try, and to know which computers to support first. We won't send you anything else, and we never sell or share your details.
Where it's kept
In a database on our own server, hosted by Hetzner. Your address isn't handed to a mailing-list company.
Visitor counts
We count page visits with Umami, which we also run ourselves. It uses no cookies and doesn't record who you are.
How long we keep it
Until we've told everyone that Scootch is ready, then we delete the list. You can ask us to delete your address sooner at any time.
Seeing, changing or deleting your details
Email hello@afterimage-dev.com and we'll show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that's the ICO.
